Google Ads, CRO and SEO for Houston businesses

Houston has no formal zoning, and much of its growth sits in unincorporated communities, so a service area here follows places like Cypress and Spring, not city limits.

We work with Houston businesses remotely from Dallas, in the same time zone as you.

Locations

Campaign: Houston-The Woodlands-Sugar Land service area

One radius around downtown Houston

Targeted areas

  • Katy
  • Cypress
  • Spring
  • The Woodlands
  • Conroe
  • Kingwood
  • Humble
  • Sugar Land
  • Missouri City
  • Pearland
  • Pasadena
  • Baytown
  • League City
  • Galveston

Katy sits about 29 miles west of downtown, so one radius misses it or pays for clicks across ten counties.

When demand moves in Houston

Budgets and campaigns change before each swing, not after the leads dry up.

Campaign calendar

When budgets and campaigns change

  • April to October: cooling season

Highs peak near 95°F in August. Run AC tune-up offers in March, before the heat.

    Details

Normal highs peak around 95°F in early August and stay high for seven months. AC repair budgets should rise with the heat, and tune-up offers should run in March, before the first hot week fills the schedule.

  • June 1 to November 30: hurricane season

Write storm ads before June and keep them paused until a storm heads for the coast.

    Details

Activity peaks from mid-August to mid-October. Generator, tree, roofing and water-damage campaigns should be written before June and paused until a storm heads for the coast. The day after Hurricane Beryl in July 2024, more than 1.5 million CenterPoint customers in the Houston area were still without power, so storm ads lean on calls and short mobile forms.

  • December to February: freeze nights

About 10 freezing nights a year. Frozen-pipe ads run on those nights, not all winter.

    Details

Bush Intercontinental averages about 10 days a year at or below freezing, and areas south of I-10 can go a whole winter without one. Frozen-pipe and heating ads should sit ready and run on the nights that matter, not all winter.

What each service looks like in Houston

Who the ads reach, what the pages say and where you show up in search.

  • Google Ads

Targeting by county and community, not a downtown radius, with storm campaigns built ahead and paused until needed.

    Details

Location targeting by county and community instead of one radius from downtown, Spanish campaigns with their own keywords where your phones can handle them, license numbers in the ads, and storm-season campaigns built ahead and paused until they’re needed.

    How we run Google Ads
  • Meta ads

Offers people aren’t searching for yet, like March AC tune-ups, shown in Bridgeland or the Energy Corridor.

    Details

Meta works for offers people aren’t searching for yet: AC tune-ups in March, generator installs before June, a new practice opening in Katy or Cypress. Suppliers to energy companies can aim ads at the Energy Corridor and Westchase office districts, and home service businesses at homeowners in newer master-planned communities such as Bridgeland.

    How we run Meta ads
  • Conversion rate optimization

Storm-week forms that ask only for name, phone and address, and offer tests that leave a filed law homepage alone.

    Details

We test forms and offers on ad landing pages, which keeps a law firm’s filed homepage unchanged. Roofing and water-damage pages should say on the first screen whether you handle flood or wind claims and how soon a crew can come, and storm-week forms should ask only for a name, phone and address, since the person filling one in may be on a phone with no power at home.

    How we do conversion work
  • Website design

Pages for Katy, Sugar Land and The Woodlands that say what you do there, with Texas dental and law rules built in.

    Details

For a metro this spread out, a site needs real pages for the areas you serve, such as Katy, Sugar Land or The Woodlands, each saying what you actually do there. Dental templates carry the General Dentist notation, and law firm homepages are planned around Texas filing rules.

    How we design websites
  • SEO

Pages and profile details for places like Cinco Ranch, which is in Greater Katy but not the City of Katy.

    Details

Many Houston homes sit in master-planned communities with their own names, such as Cinco Ranch or Bridgeland, and people also search by landmark, such as near the Galleria or near the Medical Center. We build service-area pages and Google Business Profile details around those names, so a search for a plumber in Cinco Ranch, which is in Greater Katy but not the City of Katy, finds a page about Cinco Ranch.

Questions about working with us in Houston

Ask us anything else at [email protected]. A founder replies within one business day.

Can you plan around a storm if you’re not in Houston?

Yes. We work from Dallas, so a Gulf storm that knocks out your power or internet usually doesn’t reach ours, and every change to your ads can be made remotely. Before June we agree who answers storm calls, which number the ads should ring if your office line is down, and which parts of town your crews can reach, so a change during a storm needs a text, not a meeting.

Should my ads run in a language other than English?

It depends on the part of town. Spanish fits areas such as Gulfton and Pasadena. Houston also has one of the largest Vietnamese American communities in the US, concentrated on the southwest side, with major Vietnamese business centers along Bellaire Boulevard. For a business serving Alief or the Bellaire corridor, Vietnamese ads and a Vietnamese page can reach customers that English and Spanish ads miss, as long as someone can answer in Vietnamese.

Do Google Ads work for selling to refineries and port operators?

They can, when each ad answers a specific search. Engineers and buyers at plants and terminals search for a capability, a spec or a certification, so the ad goes to a page about that one capability with a request-for-quote form. These sales take longer than a home service call, so we judge the campaign on quote requests and bids, not clicks, and give it months rather than weeks.

What happens to my ads during a hurricane?

We plan for it before June. Campaigns for generators, tree work, roofing or water damage are written in advance and paused, then turned on when a storm heads for the coast. If your crews are booked or your area has lost power, we cut spend so you don’t pay for leads you can’t serve.

How far should my ads reach across the Houston area?

Only as far as you’ll actually drive or serve. The metro covers about 8,800 square miles, and Katy alone is about 29 miles west of downtown, so a single radius tends to waste spend. We target by county, community or ZIP code and adjust toward wherever your best leads come from.

Should a Katy business budget differently from one inside the Loop?

Yes. Set budgets by area rather than one number for the metro. Inside the 610 Loop, homes and businesses sit close together, so a small area can hold enough customers. Katy spreads across Harris, Fort Bend and Waller counties, and nearby Cinco Ranch is a separate community, so a west-side business may need several areas, each with its own budget, to see what a lead costs in each.

How is the work priced?

Ongoing work is one flat monthly fee, never a percentage of your ad spend, and it runs month to month. Website builds get a fixed quote in writing. After your audit, a written proposal with your fee in dollars follows within 2 business days of asking. How our pricing works.
